Summer of ‘22

Hi! I'm having a great summer and I hope you are, too. Highlights so far include a 3-artist show at the gorgeous, new Merriam Community Center June 2 - July 2 with Jack Stemm and Anne Nye, and a hip-replacement operation June 6. (If you're counting, that's three joint replacements in 4 years — one more and I get a free toaster oven!)

A couple weeks ago, Keith Mays (who does very cool pottery and curates artwork) called to ask if I wanted to show at this cool, little gallery in Downtown Overland Park and I said, yes! Very nice space and friendly people. Also, I'm thrilled to be on a bill with Janis Sweeney and Lorrie Boydston — should be a fantastic show! It's right on the northwest corner of Santa Fe and 80th.

And then a week ago, I pinged Grant Naugle, who owns Tower Tavern at Martini Corner and the Hi-Dive Lounge on 39th, two of my very favorite places. I had taken this photo at Tower during the KU championship game (see below) and long story short, Grant's going to add it to the permanent decor at the tavern! Drop by for a cold beverage and some delicious, casual dining and you can see the biggest print ever made of one of my photographs. UPDATE: Grant’s been unable to make up his mind about the framing for the giant print, so display is currently ON HOLD.

Stay cool and have fun! Hope to see you soon.
